There is no other memory care facility like Riva Ridge. Much attention has been given to making your loved ones feel like they are at home and not at an institution. From the high ratio of caregivers to residents, to the home-cooked meals, to the country scenery, Riva Ridge is a place where you can be sure your loved one is well-cared for, clean and safe.
Our Philosophy
We provide experienced hands-on basic assistance with activities of daily living and much more. Our philosophy of person-centered care takes a holistic approach. Rather than basing care on a medical model where residents are seen as sick and dependent, and where the day revolves around administrative tasks and "treatment," we provide a well-rounded program that nurtures a resident's cognitive, spiritual, social and emotional being.
Our Credentials
By having both an assisted living and memory care facility on-site, we are able to care for your loved ones, no matter how minor or major their medical needs are. Riva Ridge Memory Care Center is registered as a Type B small, Alzheimer's certified, Assisted Living Facility, licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
Our Personalized Plans
We're structured to care for a total of 16 residents. This small size allows us to adapt our services to the unique needs of each patient and provide them with a truly personalized plan of care. Our family-style environment allows us to not just bond with the residents, but also to their extended family – a characteristic rarely seen in other care settings. We're able to customize menus, activities and even the décor to accommodate individual preferences and needs.
Our Management Team
Ken Missler
Owner/Operator
Riva Ridge Assisted Living is owned and operated by Ken Missler, a health care executive with over 30 years experience in hospital administration, group practice administration and health facilities development. On June 1, 2013, Ken purchased the 12-bed facility, “House at Cedar Ridge” and then renamed it “Riva Ridge Memory Care Center.” From then, he has grown the community to form two separate facilities: Riva Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care Center to better serve the senior community.
Kellie Mowery
General Manager
Kellie was born and raised in Liverpool, England and attended Riverside College in Widnes before entering the workforce, which included being a stewardess for British Midway Airways. After raising her two sons, Kellie plunged head-first into her second career as a care-giver and joined the Riva team. Through her strong work ethic, deep sense of caring for others and her natural leadership ability, Kellie advanced as a lead caregiver and is now general manager for the facility. Every resident knows her smiling face and caring heart.
